Comparing Permeability and Drying Shrinkage of the Concrete Containing Mineral Admixtures under the Equal Strength Grade

چکیده

Fly ash (FA) and ground granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBS) are the most widely used mineral admixtures in engineering. However, their roles concrete under equal strength grade, a common comparison method engineering, were seldom reported. This study investigated chloride ion permeability drying shrinkage of samples containing FA or GGBS an grade. The samples’ strengths slumps maintained same levels by adjusting water-to-binder ratios superplasticizer dosages. results show that both can promote resistance to penetration decrease diffusion coefficients, especially at late ages, due hydraulicity pozzolanic activity FA. Compared with FA, presents greater reduction its higher reactivity. Forty percent replacement level from “high” plain cement “moderate” “low”, respectively. In addition, high (30% 40%). is more significant FA-containing concrete, decreasing approximately 400 ?? 350 40% level. findings provide scientific guidance for applying practical

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...

Curing with Shrinkage-Reducing Admixtures Beyond drying shrinkage reduction

Shrinkage of concrete, along with the cracking that often accompanies it, has been a continual concern of the concrete construction community.1,2 In the past 20 years or so, numerous shrinkage-reducing admixtures (SRAs) have been developed with the goal of reducing drying shrinkage and delaying or preventing cracking.2-6 Most SRAs function by reducing the surface tension of the pore solution in...

Comparison of Permeability and Drying Shrinkage of Self Compacting Concrete Admixed with Wollastonite Micro Fiber and Flyash

Cement substitution in self compacting concrete (SCC) is emphasized to conserve environment, reduce cost and utilize waste materials. This paper focuses on comparing the permeability and drying shrinkage of SCC containing Wollastonite micro fiber (WMF), a cheap pozzolanic fiber with respect to flyash. Microsilica was added for providing required viscosity to maintain homogeneity of the mixes. T...

Shrinkage of High Strength Concrete

This paper presents the results of an experimental investigation carried out to evaluate the shrinkage of High Strength Concrete. High Strength Concrete is made by partially replacement of cement by flyash and silica fume. The shrinkage of High Strength Concrete has been studied using the different types of coarse and fine aggregates i.e. Sandstone and Granite of 12.5 mm size and Yamuna and Bad...
